Niles North Theatre is committed to performing a wide variety of theatrical styles, with an equal emphasis on both the classics and the contemporary.
Miss Julie
A lusty battle of the sexes is served up as only Strindberg could. Known for his vacillating tragic characters and his exploration of Naturalism, here his characters are driven by their intellectual and romantic desires, but constrained by the social customs that both comfort and constrict them. Will they break free?
Twelfth Night
The bard is at his comic best as he weaves a hilarious web of youthful romance, disguise, deception, and gender-bending surprises. Considered one of Shakespeare's greatest comedies, Twelfth Night explores how far we will go in the pursuit of love.
New Playwrights Showcase
Readings of new ten-minute plays by Niles North playwrights!
Touring Children's Theater
Beloved children's tales creatively dramatized by Niles North students.
Reflections: An Improv Show Who Are You Hiding?
Student-written sketch comedy/improv show. Mask-characters created by students and developed into imaginary scenes.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Written by Tony Award winning composer (Falsettoland) Willam Finn, Spelling Bee will charm your socks off! This makes-you-smile musical reminds us of the simplicity, hopefulness and horror of childhood as we watch a quirky group of adolescent outsiders learn that winning isn't everything.
Another Part of the Forest
Lillian Hellman's gripping tale of the power- and money-hungry Hubbard Family is set in the post-Civil War South. Not only does she bring history to life, but she spins a web of driven characters who both touch your heart and horrify you. This is American storytelling at its very best!
